Why a French couple ends up getting married in a villa rental in Marrakech ?

This is the atypical story of an atypical couple considered by all their friends as atypical.

 

Any link with Marrakech ? No. Already talked together about a wedding in Marrakech before ? Never.

Already opted for their holidays in a villa rental in MarrakechVilla Marrakech rental with luxury pool ? No.

 

But despite all that, they have decided to surprise their friends and themselves inviting their closest friends and their families, about 60 people for a wedding in Marrakech that they wanted unforgettable…and of course atypical !

 

What could be more appropriate for this kind of gathering and celebration than Villa Taj Marrakech ? This choice seemed so obvious for them. A place that is not a hotel, nor a luxury villa, just a place symbol of good and sophisticated, of well-being, friendliness, laughter and happiness.

 

Maud and Xavier have decided to organize the first evening, as a welcome dinner, in the Lantern tent of the Villa Taj. A moment of conviviality for as they said, “let people land”…aware of the Weddings in Marrakech Marathon that was to come from Thursday to Sunday.

 

The day after this dream dinner under the dimmed lanterns of the tent, it was time to go back to business because when you decide to rent a villas in Marrakech like Villa Taj, you must take advantage of all the possibilities it offers.

So, after spending a day of rest for some, of visits for others (the villa is just 25 minutes away from city center), everyone gathered under the centennial olive trees of the villa to attend a marrakech wedding ceremony orchestrated by a relative of the bride and groom calling friends and families for readings, speeches, laughs and tears.

Cocktail party on the rooftop terrace of the villa facing the Atlas mountains, then dinner. And once again, despite the fact that it’s a wedding in Marrakech, Maud and Xavier have decided to follow their atypical instinct and offered their guests a 100% French menu made by Yves, the French chef resident at the villa for events : sea bass ravioli with crustacean juice, crusty fresh vegetables and bisque vinaigrette, crusted beef with honey glazed vegetables, individual cheese platters prepared by Meignat, the best French cheesemaker in Marrakech, and then a wedding cake made of Nutella cupcakes with small customized Nutella pots.

And then went the dinner, entertainment, drums fireshow, friends speeches and funny shows.

The next day, a more usual day after start with the famous Villa Taj brunch under the olive trees and the incredible fruit juices of the caterer, and then everybody leaves the villa for a treasure hunt in the heart of the old city, the medina.

Ending on a privatized terrace of a riad for more unforgettable moments.

 

Sunday, last day, guests wake up hearing the sound of the quadbikes roars and everybody gets on his machine for a last lunch in the desert before going back to the airport.

 

It will surely take a long time to Maud, Xavier and all their friends and families to remove all the stars from their eyes.
